Why book with us

Vauxhall Vivaro Servicing & Repairs Smethwick with clear advice.

The Vivaro is one of the most common vans around Smethwick, West Bromwich and Oldbury. We service and repair all three generations, from the early Vivaro A to the latest Vivaro C, along with the bigger Movano and the small Combo. Servicing, fault finding, clutches, brakes, suspension and emissions repairs are all done in our workshop on Cranford Street. Sole traders and small fleets alike use us.

It helps to know what is under the bonnet. The first two Vivaros were built alongside the Renault Trafic and use Renault-designed diesels, while the Vivaro C is built on the same base as the Peugeot Expert and Citroën Dispatch. That means different engines, different service needs and different common faults. We check which version you have and work to the right schedule and parts.

Common jobs on Vivaros include clutches and dual-mass flywheels, EGR valves, blocked particulate filters and, on newer vans, AdBlue faults. We read the fault codes and test properly before we quote, so you are not paying for parts the van did not need. You get a phone call with a clear price and an honest view of what is urgent.

A van off the road costs you work, so we keep things straightforward. Tell us when you can spare the van and we will book it in around that. If we find something else while it is with us, we ring you first and nothing extra is done without your say-so. Andrae has looked after vans and cars in Smethwick for more than ten years.

We MOT vans under both Class 4 and Class 7, so we can test a Vivaro or a 3.5-tonne Movano here as well as service it. Call us on 0121 461 6097 to book or to talk through a problem. We are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. Tell us the registration and what the van is doing when you call, and we will make sure we have the right parts for your version before it arrives.

Common questions

Which Vivaro do I have?
Vivaro A vans were sold from 2001 to 2014 and Vivaro B from 2014 to 2019, both built alongside the Renault Trafic. The Vivaro C arrived in 2019 and shares its base with the Peugeot Expert and Citroën Dispatch. Give us your registration and we will confirm the engine and the right service schedule.
My Vivaro judders when pulling away. Is it the clutch?
Often it is the clutch or the dual-mass flywheel, especially if there is a rattle at idle that stops when you press the pedal. It can also be an engine mount. We check before we quote, because changing the clutch without a worn flywheel means doing the job again soon after.
Why does my Vivaro keep showing a DPF light?
The DPF fills with soot and needs regular hot runs to burn it off. Vans doing short local jobs rarely get that, so the filter blocks. Faulty sensors and EGR problems can make it worse. We find the cause, then regenerate, clean or replace the filter as needed.
Can you fix AdBlue faults on a Vivaro C?
Yes. AdBlue warnings can come from the tank and pump unit, the heater, the dosing injector, the NOx sensors or contaminated fluid. We test the system and replace only what has failed. Do not ignore the countdown, as the van will eventually refuse to start.
Can you MOT a Movano?
Yes. Most Movanos are plated at 3,500kg and need a Class 7 MOT, which we carry out. Vivaros and Combos up to 3,000kg go in Class 4, which we also test. Your V5C or the plate in the door shut shows the design gross weight.
Will servicing with you keep my Vauxhall warranty valid?
Yes. Block exemption rules let you use an independent garage without losing the manufacturer warranty, as long as the work follows the schedule and uses correct-spec parts and oils. We stamp the service book and record the work. If your van is still under warranty, keep the invoices with the service book, as they show the work was done on time.
Do you service small business fleets?
Yes. We look after single vans and small fleets for local businesses in Smethwick and nearby. Each van gets its own clear invoice, which helps with records. Call us to talk through what suits your vans. Booking the MOT and service for each van together keeps time off the road down.
How do I book my Vivaro in?
Call us on 0121 461 6097 or book online with your registration and a note of the problem. We are on Cranford Street in Smethwick, open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm, and handy for vans from Oldbury, West Bromwich and Birmingham.
