Bearwood is just south of the garage, and from the shops on Bearwood Road it is around 5 minutes up to Cranford Street. For most Bearwood residents we are the nearest independent garage that does MOTs, servicing and repairs under one roof.

Bearwood is a lively residential area between Smethwick and Birmingham, with Warley Woods and Lightwoods Park on its doorstep and the A456 Hagley Road running along its southern edge. Plenty of households here have two cars—one for the commute into the city, one for the school run.

The commuter car tends to spend its life in Hagley Road traffic, which wears brake pads and discs and, on manual cars, clutches. The second car often does little more than short local trips, which is hard on batteries and diesel particulate filters. We look at each car for how it is actually used.
