Why book with us

Peugeot vans Servicing & Repairs Smethwick with clear advice.

Peugeot vans cover every size of job. The Partner is a compact van for town work, the Expert is a popular mid-size panel van, and the Boxer is a big van used for removals, deliveries and as a base for Lutons and tippers. We service and repair all of them in our workshop on Cranford Street, Smethwick, for tradespeople and small firms across Sandwell and Birmingham.

Each van has its own known faults. The older 1.6 HDi in the Partner is known for injector seal leaks and turbo failures caused by oil feed problems. BlueHDi engines in newer Experts and Partners use AdBlue, and the tank and pump unit can fail. The Boxer shares its base with the Fiat Ducato and Citroën Relay, and its six-speed gearbox can suffer bearing wear.

We read the Peugeot fault codes, check live data and test before we replace anything. Then we ring you with a clear quote and tell you what is urgent and what can wait. Nothing extra is done without your approval, so you stay in control of the bill. If we find something that is not urgent, we tell you so you can plan for it rather than being caught out at the next MOT.

We know your van is your income. Tell us when you can spare it and we will work around you, and book the MOT and service together so it only comes in once. Andrae has run ER Automotive in Smethwick for over ten years, and many local trades from Oldbury, West Bromwich and Bearwood trust us with their vans. If we find more once we start, we ring you first.

Most Boxers are plated at 3,500kg and need a Class 7 MOT. We test both Class 4 and Class 7, so we can MOT any Peugeot van up to 3,500kg. Call us on 0121 461 6097 to book in or talk through a fault. We are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. Tell us the registration when you book and we will have the right parts ready.

Common questions

Can you MOT my Peugeot Boxer?
Yes. Most Boxers are plated at 3,500kg design gross weight and need a Class 7 MOT, which we carry out. Partners and most Experts sit under 3,000kg and go in Class 4, which we also test. Check your V5C or the plate in the door shut if you are not sure.
My Boxer gearbox is whining. What is it?
A whine or rumble that rises with road speed is often a worn bearing in the six-speed gearbox. Left alone it gets louder and can end in a failed gearbox. We road test it and check for other causes, such as wheel bearings, before we quote.
Why does my Expert say there is an AdBlue fault?
Common causes are the AdBlue tank and pump unit, the heater, the dosing injector, the NOx sensors or contaminated fluid. The van will count down how many starts are left, so book it in quickly. We test the system and replace only the part that has failed.
My Partner diesel has a ticking noise and smells of fuel. Is that serious?
On the 1.6 HDi this is often a leaking injector seal. Gas escapes past the seal and leaves black carbon around the injector. It is far cheaper to fix early, before the carbon builds up and the injector becomes hard to remove.
Does my Peugeot van need DPF additive?
Some older HDi vans use an additive fluid to help the DPF burn off soot. When it runs low you get a warning and the filter can block. We check the level, top it up and reset the system, and check the filter condition at the same time.
Will servicing with you affect my Peugeot warranty?
No. Block exemption rules mean you can use an independent garage without losing the warranty, as long as the work follows the schedule and uses correct-spec parts and oils. We stamp the service book and keep a record. If your van is still under warranty, keep the invoices with the service book, as they show the work was done on time.
Do you work on electric Peugeot vans?
We can carry out brakes, suspension, tyres, steering and MOT work on the e-Partner and e-Expert. Call us with your registration and we will tell you what we can do for your van. If the fault is with the battery or drive system, tell us what the van is doing and we will tell you plainly whether it is something we can help with.
How do I book my Peugeot van in?
Call us on 0121 461 6097 or book online with your registration and a short note of the problem. We are on Cranford Street in Smethwick, open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm. If you are not sure what is wrong, describe what you hear, feel or see on the dash and we will take it from there.
